Please send my regards to them on my behalf and my team.  I have finished compiling the end of year leaning journal.

Some might have already received it yesterday.  The rest might find it early in their next week post so be on the lookout   🙂

As promised I am uploading a couple of links which you might find useful over summer when playing on line with your children.

Enjoy   🙂

Dear parents and guardians,

I want to thank you on behalf of the Pre-junior B Team for the lovely presents you have given us.

We love them!

We really appreciate all that you have done.  I was asked by Ms. Debattista to blog the gifts so you could all see them.

The gifts on the side are from Mdina Glass as it is not very clear.  Ms. Tanya ‘s present is in a separate photo as she had already left school.

Graduation Day

Dear parents and guardians,

As you all know tomorrow we will be celebrating the Pre-Junior Graduation.

Please drop off the children in class as usual at 8 o’clock the latest, preferably earlier.  We have to start the ceremony at 8.30am sharp because timing will affect the rest of the day’s programme.

The children have to come wearing the following:

  • Their summer uniform.
  • The bathing costume has to be worn underneath, just like when we had the water fun day at school.
  • However if the swimming costume shows under the shorts especially for the boys they can wear it right after the ceremony. It is important that they are smart and when they sit down on stage the swimming trunks do not show.  This is to ensure that any photos taken will look their best.
  • They have to wear their usual smart school shoes too.

Important Points – The following have to be sent in a separate labelled bag.

  • A towel
  • Appropriate shoes for the beach just like they had on water fun day.  (Not the usual school shoes now).
  • A swimming cap (If you have one.)  Those who don’t have will be provided with one from the pool reception.
  • Underwear and toiletries required for using the shower afterwards.
  • Armbands (not inflated)

As you all know one parent has to accompany each child for the swimming session.

Before we enter the pool area I will give you a pair of plastic over shoes to ensure the pool area remains clean.

I look forward to seeing you once again to spend another memorable day in the company of your little loved ones.

Regards

Ms. Geraldine

Correction

This is to let you know that when I had blogged for the ice-cream money I had asked for 2 euros when in fact I intended to write 1 euro.

All those who did send in 2 euros will get their change tomorrow as soon as you drop off the children.

Regards

Last day of School

Dear parents and guardians,

party time.png
As you all know this Friday 23rd June is the last day of school for the children.  We usually finish our scholastic year with a party and other activities organized to make this day another memorable one for the kids.

This is what is happening on the day

  • A party – We will get the food items from an outside caterer so you will not have to prepare anything yourselves.
  • A puppet show and animation session in which the children will also participate.
  • A Bouncy castle session

Thus we are asking you to kindly send in 6 euros in a sealed envelope for the above clearly labelled with your child’s name and entitled Last day – Party Time.

Kindly also send in, in the same envelope another 3 euros for the workbooks that the children worked on during the third and last term.

So you have to send in 9 euros in total.

Kindly send in the money by Friday 23rd June.

I will let you know what the children need to get such as bag as well as dress code in another blog.

Thanks for your constant support.

Kind regards

Ms. Geraldine

Fun Games Day

Tuesday 20th June is Fun Games for the junior school including the Pre-Junior classes.

As you were already informed via Ms. Georgina’s email, this will take the form of play water games as well as swimming in the pools already set up in the school grounds.

These are the main points which will guide you what to send for that day.

  1.  The children need to come to school wearing their bathing suit beneath their school uniform.  Since the children are young, to the contrary of what was originally stated in the e mail, girls may come in a two piece bathing suit since it makes it easier for them to access the toilet.
  2. You need to send in:
  • Ready blown up armbands
  • A towel
  • A t-shirt for the children to wear while swimming (compulsory) – either a swim top or a normal t shirt
  • A sun hat –  Extremely important since they cannot apply sun block before entering the pool BUT they can apply sun block from home.
  • Flip-flops, crocks or sandals
  • A pair of underpants to change into after swimming
  • A plastic bag to put the wet items in before sending them home.

Please ensure that everything you send in is clearly labelled so we don’t have any confusion.

  1.  An ice cream van will be visiting the school that day. If you wish, your child will be allowed to buy an ice cream.  Please write me a note in their notebook and leave it open with your decision. If the decision is yes send in Euro 2 in a labelled envelope with the child’s name.
  2. IMP. – Sun cream may be applied at home before the children come to school.

Thanks for your co-operation

Ms. Geraldine

Outing at the dentist

The highlight of the 8th week was our visit to the dentist.  It was really a valuable experience for the children were they learnt to trust the dentist as a doctor who might help them.

In preparation for this visit, a day before a good chunk of circle time was dedicated to this topic.  First we discussed that our teeth are very important for us because we use them to bite and chew our food.

Our teeth give a shape to our lower part of the face along with the chin bones.  With shiny white teeth we can smile and feel good.

That is why it is important to take care of our teeth and brush them when we wake up and before we go to sleep.  We should also brush them when we eat some kind of sugary deserts or sweets.

Sugar is the number one enemy of our teeth.  It creates holes called cavities which hurt our teeth.

The children watched a story on the interactive whiteboard to put them at ease regarding going to the dentist.

Caillou at the Dentist –

Going to the Dentist Song | Original Songs | By LBB Junior –

The Carter Family 10: Going to the Dentist | Level 3 | By Little Fox

I also mentioned that the dentist has a magical chair which goes up and down as well as special tools like a very tiny mirror.

He also has a computer with a huge television where we can also see our teeth.  At the end of circle time the children were very excited and promised that they were going to take care of their teeth and brush them really well    🙂

At the clinic:

During the visit the children were split into two groups, half were with me and they were under the care of dentist Dr. Jean Paul.

The other half were taken care of by dentist Dr. Sara and accompanied by Ms. Corinne.  Below are the photos we took at the dentist.  Amongst them are the photos of Dr. Jean Paul showing us a set of huge make believe teeth and he showed the children how they should brush their teeth in a circular motion.

The children got to know that at present they have 20 teeth but when they are adults they will have 32.  Our dentist session ended with all the children paying a visit to the laboratory where they saw how false teeth are made.

Last but not least you received the dental plan of your child for your perusal along with the small gifts to encourage the children to brush their teeth regularly.

Enjoy the photos    🙂
