On Sunday 23rd of April World Book Day was celebrated.
All the Junior school at St. Catherine’s decided to commemorate this last Thursday by spending 15 minutes reading a book.
We had our session outdoors since it was a lovely day. I chose a gigantic book with huge pictures that all the class could see called the Trouble with Tractors by Nicola Baxter. It also had a funny twist to the story 🙂
Several animal sounds were mentioned in it too, so the children could participate without losing their concentration span being a long reading session for 4/5 year olds. The book was called Tractors. Here are some photos of the event.
After the story was over we discussed the book and went through some vocabulary.
The children also voiced their opinion and used their imagination as to how the story could end.
