During the 11th week we continued working with addition – please refer to the previous numeracy blog for the method used.
What changed was we did not only add 1 to a given number but we kept on adding 2, 3, 4 and 5.
The children used many tangible objects to add up. They had various game stations all with different items to add up, buttons, bottle caps, play dough, numicon shapes and their own fingers.
They were also given an adding card to record their additions. The cards looked very similar to the work presented in the numeracy workbook.
