Term 2 Week 2 Patterns in Nature – Part 3

This week we explored this topic further.

We looked at many other patterns in nature such as water: so we have rain drops and water ripples, insects such as bees with strips, flowers with endless pattern work, food in various shapes and last but not least more animals with which we linked more of our alphabet letters – see literacy blogs.

Here is a pic of a few patterns we looked at.


The children started getting their little pattern cutouts from home and showing the patterns they chose in front of the class.

Well done Kay, Kristina, Julia, and Hailey.

Some children even got their own toys with pattern work such as Denzel’s dinosaur, Lashaya’s pink tiger, and Chanelle’s doll with the patterned tiara.

You can still send in pattern work pictures so we can hang them up on our topic wall.

The children also watched a story called Pattern Fish:
